{"id":8439,"date":"2022-09-05T20:29:21","date_gmt":"2022-09-05T18:29:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/centroandaluzalfa1.org\/?p=8439"},"modified":"2022-09-05T22:00:57","modified_gmt":"2022-09-05T20:00:57","slug":"4th-ibero-latin-american-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/centroandaluzalfa1.org\/en\/4th-ibero-latin-american-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"4th IBERO-LATIN AMERICAN FORUM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4TH IBERO-LATIN AMERICAN FORUM ON ALPHA-1 ANTITRYPSIN DEFICIT AND CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Experience with Progenika and Novelties in Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On September 3, the 4th Ibero-Latin American Forum (IBLA) on Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) will take place in Barcelona.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/centroandaluzalfa1.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/alat-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8422\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ALPHA-1 ANTITRYPSIN AND CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This international event will bring together more than 40 pulmonology specialists from Spain, Portugal, the United States and Latin America, together with researchers with an interest in this disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representatives of the Asociaci\u00f3n Alfa-1 Espa\u00f1a, Alfa-1 Argentina and the Alpha One Foundation of the USA will also attend the meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The IBLA-AATD and EPOC Forum was born in 2018, as an initiative of the REDAAT (Spanish DAAT Network).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has the endorsement of SEPAR (Spanish Society of Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery) and ALAT (Latin American Thorax Association).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides, the Forum is coordinated by Alejandra Rey (Uruguay), Michael Campos (USA), Mariano Fern\u00e1ndez-Acquier (Argentina) and Francisco Casas (Spain).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4th Ibero-latin American Forum of AATD and EPOC<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-image uagb-block-56f500eb wp-block-uagb-image--layout-default wp-block-uagb-image--effect-static wp-block-uagb-image--align-none\"><figure class=\"wp-block-uagb-image__figure\"><img decoding=\"async\" srcset=\"https:\/\/centroandaluzalfa1.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/4th-Ibero-Latin-American-Forum-on-Alpha-1-Antitrypsin-Deficiency-and-COPD-1024x576.png 1024w\" src=\"https:\/\/centroandaluzalfa1.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/4th-Ibero-Latin-American-Forum-on-Alpha-1-Antitrypsin-Deficiency-and-COPD-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"uag-image-8442\" width=\"\" height=\"\" title=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 3 we will celebrate a new meeting of the Forum in Barcelona and the main theme has been proposed &#8220;Experience with Progenika and News in AATD&#8221;.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, The experience in diagnosis with Alpha-ID\u00ae and Progenika of researchers from all the countries participating in the 4th Forum will be discussed, as well as the novelties in the EARCO initiative and in the treatment of AATD.<br>In addition, real-life clinical cases will be discussed and the SEPAR Manual on &#8220;Technical Laboratory Procedures for the Diagnosis of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency&#8221; coordinated by Francisco Casas and Jos\u00e9 Luis L\u00f3pez-Campos will be presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Commemorative act for AATD pioneers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the objectives of the IBLA-AATD and COPD Forum is to facilitate the meeting of professionals with an interest in AATD, but it also serves as a meeting point to strengthen ties of friendship between colleagues on both sides of the Atlantic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this reason, to culminate this meeting, Francisco Casas, coordinator of the Andalusian Center Alfa-1 of Granada, together with Dr. Marc Miravitlles, coordinator of the Center Alfa-1, will deliver commemorative plaques to Drs. Ignacio Blanco and Rafael Vidal as benchmarks in Spain and internationally, for a lifetime dedicated to AATD.<br>There will also be a posthumous tribute to Drs. Guillermo Menga (Argentina) and Manuel Barros (Chile) international references and pioneers of the AATD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/centroandaluzalfa1.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/AATD-History-1024x320.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8440\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Each meeting is different and very enriching for the participants<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To conclude, this experience will be recorded and all professionals with an interest in the AAT will have access to it in streaming.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It means, professionals and researchers from all over the world share their experiences and impressions about the disease, offering different points of view, resulting in a unique opportunity to learn and to continue fighting together, together with AATD Patient Associations, for a single
