Francisco Casas (Coordinator of the Andalusian Alpha-1 Center in Granada) and José Antonio Quintano (Spanish Society of Primary Care Physicians (SEMERGEN) have developed the Workshop for the diagnosis of alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD), which has taken place during the IX SEMERGEN Respiratory Conference held in León on May 24 and 25, 2019.
The workshop has aimed to improve the knowledge about AATD by Primary Care physicians and reduce its underdiagnosis thanks to new diagnostic tools such as AlphaID ™, a free oral test that allows the diagnosis of most of the genetic variants causing the DAAT.
