Alpha-1 challenges and needs

Madrid has been the headquarters of the 1st Ibero-Latin American Forum on Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, which has brought together more than 30 professionals from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela and Spain, committed to promoting research clinical and education in alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (DAAT).

This Forum is an initiative of the Spanish Registry of Patients with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (REDAAT), the Latin American Chest Association (ALAT) and the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR). During the same, referring doctors from Latin America and Spain exposed the DAAT situation in each country, the same being very different in each case.
